We've just started dating (a few weeks now) and have been on several dates as well as just hanging out watching movies etc. He seems to be into me...asking me to go out or come over on the weekends and calling me during the week. He is considerate and thoughtful and sincerely interested in my life. (As I am with his too) However, he seems to be scared of getting close to me. The first couple times we hung out he wouldn't even sit next to me on the couch. Now he will but he won't touch me (won't sit close or hold my hand or anything) Last time we watched a movie I leaned my head on his shoulder but he had no reaction. I don't understand it! He seems to like me and want to be around me but then he won't do anything. I'm afraid if I make a move it will scare him away. Any thoughts?

i dont think that he's afraid of you cuz if he was, he'd prolly stop asking you out....it could be a number of different reasons....its very possible that he's emotionally detatched or that he was abused when he was younger.....idk. but those are some reasons y ppl dont enjoy physical contact with other ppl....i hate it when people touch me or are close to me as well...for both of those reasons. im thinking that it probably has nothing to do with you and more to do with something personal he's dealing with. of course, i may be looking too deeply into this and perhaps he simply enjoys having his space. or he could be afraid of scaring YOU off by what he thinks is being too bold. in any case, he probably just needs to warm up to you more and feel more comfortable/at ease when he's around you.

Maybe he really cares about you and doesn't want to move too fast. He also may be afriad that he might scare you off. You be the first to move and that way your moving at your own pace. Then he'll go with the flow.

maybe ur too fast for him.. slow it down.. he just might started dating too and dont know what to do...and it seems u just want to make out or something..be friends laugh have fun... dont rush things.....
