No, weddings are dressy. Dress as if you were going to church on Sunday morning. You dont have to wear a dress, if you have a nice pants suit with a pretty blouse that would be perfect. Dressing nicely doesnt mean you have to be girly, but you do need to be appropriate and jeans nor capris would be that. How about a pair of black pants, with a flashy top, maybe a pretty and modest halter top and pair of black strappy heels, I've seen women wear things like that and they always look great and appropriate for a wedding.
Good luck!

I just went to a wedding a month ago. It was a medevil theme. I wore black flyaway pants and a colorful blouse. Their were some people dressed up and some dressed in Jeans. I think it really depends on the type of wedding you are going to. Is it a formal affair. You could wear capris and still dress them up with a nice blouse and some heals or wear a pair of black slacks flats and a nice blouse. I never dress girly but still love to dress up if that makes any sense. I almost never wear dresses except sundresses in the summer when its hot. Talk to the bride or groom and ask what they think. I think even a nice pair of khaki pants with a nice blouse would be fine. If these people know you well then they would likely be shocked to see you dressed up all girly if that is not your thing.

Well, does the invitation say anything about dress code? If not, I would start by asking the bride or someone in the bridal party. Otherwise, you should err on the side of wearing something a bit dressier. You dont actually have to wear dress. You can't go wrong wearing a suit, or if you dont have a suit, just wear business casual. Nice slacks and a blouse.
Dressing up is symbolic-- Its not just a regular old day for the couple. Its a special day, so you wear something special.

You can't wear jeans, unless the wedding is stipulated as being casual. You could wear light dressy clothes, you don't have to be girly, just nice. Sometimes weddings are nice to get dressed up and be girly. I am not gily by nature either but whenever there is a wedding I like to get dressed up for the fun of it.

If the bride is not wearing jeans, you're not wearing jeans, OK?
You don't have to get all frilly if that's not your style. But it shows respect to dress up to the occasion. So go buy a nice simple, classy suit for women, such as might be worn for business. If you don't do heels, then some kinda low-slung pump.

If the invitation do not state a dress code wear something casual or a suit like you state you have. You can also ask the bride that is the attire, but usually something casual.

No, anything does not go. For a wedding you would wear a dress, or a very dressy outfit if you are wearing pants. Doesn't have to be "girly", go butch if you want, but make it not casual.

I hate dressing up but it's a wedding, dress up a little more than usual and don't ever all white. Only the bride should be wearing all white.

Well I got married in a church in early summer, and people were wearing some pretty crappy clothes. Just remember that it looks bad in the bride and groom's pictures if people are wearing shabby clothes. But today I guess anything really goes for some people LOL.

Yes you need to dress up - even here in sunny CA! You can wear a nice skirt and blouse, flowy floral dress, little black dress, heel and pearls and look smashing!
