I too have tried the toothpaste and it worked but I think I used some generic brand with out the whittening properites (i think that might cause some skin irration anyhow) It worked but I wouldn't recomend slabbing toothpaste all over your face every evening. Instead, this might seem corny, but eat a healthy diet. Trust me.
Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of water. Trust me, by cutting down on cokes and what not does make a difference. Even getting enough sleep and not stressing. I know that when I have exams I break out all across my left cheek but I dont get zits anymore. Plus try steaming, cleansing, and toning.
Go here, I did:

Sweetie, I'm not sure what your ethnicity is or your skin type, but these are major factors when trying to treat and prevent acne. I can assure you toothpaste and glue are not the answers. I'm African American, with very oily and acne prone skin. I'm 27 and have been battling acne for years; some days are better than others. I was told chemical peels and micro-dermabrasions would help me. I tried it for a year and obtained no results. I've also tried Proactiv and other skin care lines, but products that work for others and their skin type may not work for you and if you're like me, I know you want this to go away as soon as possible. I was prescribed Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Differin, Hydroquonione 4% for scarring and suggested to try Accutane (which to me was too powerful of a drug), but some say it works for them and gives immediate results; the side affects just intimidated me so I declined that treatment. Do realize though that whatever you begin using, to only use that and not mix product lines. Also, give your skin time to get used to the product and/or medicine. These things really aren't overnight successes, especially if you have really bad acne or scarring left over from previous acne. You should really consult a dermatologist that specializes in your particular skin type. They will analyze your skin and provide medicines that should work well with you and your specific problem. In the meantime, if you're an everyday make-up wearer, I would suggest backing off a bit as this clogs your pores. I wish you luck in clearing up your skin. I totally understand! Hope I helped.

I have not heard of glue, but based on personal experience if you put toothpaste on a pimple while it is still red, after a day or two that might help dry it down. It's the same thing that an over the counter pimple cream does, so I don't think that it is like some miracle cure. Still takes time for your pimple to completely go away. I don't think the brand of toothpaste matters.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I wouldn't do it. You can go to any drugstore/foodstore and buy acne gel/cream for under $10, and it's much less irritating and works better than toothpaste. Glue is just a bad idea in general.
Look for ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
Get a good skincare regimen going (wash 2x/day, no more), find products that work for your skin type... see a dermatologist and you'll prevent many zits. Good luck!

I have never tried it but I have another way to help with acne. Mix alittle bit of milk, lemon juice, and sugar. the sugar is grainy so it scrubs, the emon juice is an astringent, and the milk is a way to cleanse it naturally. Sorry that I cant help with the toothpaste and glue thing, but that is my other way. It really works. Make sure you do it once a day at night befoer you go to sleep so it works overnight. GOOD LUCK with the acne!!!

paste toothpaste, not gel, will work as a quick fix...do not put glue on your skin, especially your face...
as a skin care routine,
raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..
the following 2 testimonials can be seen at http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/acne.ht...
Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
you can get it at the health food store, or in some super marktet health food sections. i use bragg vinegar..
good luck
Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."
to drink it, put it in honey and water, or apple juicc--tastes like cider..cost is 5 dollars a qt at the healthfood store

Hey. I'm right where you are. Except for I went the expensive route. I did ProActive, I've tried just about everything. Mine wasn't so bad except for when I did get it, it bothered the crap out of me. Finally got rid of it. If you are looking for an in-expensive route to go then check this website out.

It's a quick way and cheap way to get rid of acne. Of course, you never really get rid of it, it's always going to be there, skin deep.
But, as you mentioned. Toothpaste is most cures for over-night pimples, zits, or black-head. Cause' it lifts all the filth underneath it and lets it stop swelling. But, you need to put it on a pimple or "acne" before you go to bed, cause it'll work over-night knowing that you won't bother it.
Here is another really good site. http://www.dmt123.com/diseases-conditions/734-dmt123.html
Goodluck! <3

Do not put toothpaste on a zit. You used to be able to do it back in the 70's but now with all the whitening chemicals in it you will get a black and blue sore that will take even longer to heal. My daughter tried this a couple years ago and it was a mess.
