Could anyone tell me the long term overuse of this antibiotics (consecutively for 5 weeks)?

As a healthcare provider I am interested in the reason it was prescribed for this length of time. It would be impossible to comment on 'overuse' if I do not know if the medicine is trully being overused. There are some situations where long term antibiotics are acceptable and necessary and the long term effects have been weighed against the perceived benefit and found to be a good thing,.

I dont beleive that particular medicine is meant to be taken that long.(im a nurse)It could destroy all the good bacteria in your stomach causing sepsis or susceptibility to clostridium difficile.
