It's one of two things. One: You're fatter because..you're fatter. Sorry, but muscle weighs more than fat, and you just have more fat. Get out there and run, drink water, and eat right. Or, Two: It's just genetic. It depends on muscle tissue, bone structure, soft body tissue, body water content, the actual density of your muscle, bones, and tissues. Heck, if you were wearing clothes (and i hope you were if you were with a friend) then your weights could be the same by a fluke, as one of you could be wearing more.

Same with me and my sister years ago. She had a better fit body and was at lease two sizes smaller than me even though we weighted the same and was the same height.

I had to drop ten pounds and work out before I was able to fit in her clothes.

It could be because of your muscles. Muscles weigh differently depending on the person. It can also be because of your size. You and your friend might be heavier in different places and so maybe it's just more obvious in your body than hers.

You friend probably has more lean muscle mass and you have more fat. Fat takes up more space than muscle. Either that or you just carry your weight differently.

yeah - i bet that when you look at her you see someone who is in better physical shape - more toned, etc. muscle weighs more than fat. but it's not about the number. if you are happy with how you feel then don't worry about it, if you don't feel good, then add something active into your life or put down the unhealthy food.

there is no correlation between the total body weight and the amount of body fat. your body composition differs from your friend, you have more body fat then she does.
