I went out with this guy last week and up until this point he's been the one to make contact. i think he enjoys pursuing me but i don't want this all to become one-sided. Do you think it would be a turn off if i texted him?

Once you have gone out with the guy the door is open to a relationship and you have every right to pursue it. He would probably love to receive text messages from you.

If he enjoys the pursuit so much then you might play hard to get and flirt with him, just to keep him interested in the chase. Then you need to make a decision if you want to be with this boy or not. A lot of teenage males want to hunt women and once they have had sex with them they move on to a new goal. This may be what you are looking at.

Men aren't pigs, but our genes make our love life and active one. The best way for the male to reproduce is to have sex with as many women as quickly as possible. Our genes write our instincts, we can rise above them, but they are at the core of our thinking. This explains why men seem to go between woman to woman like butterflies visit flowers.

What makes this behavior worse to women is that the best way for them to reproduce is to catch a male's attention and hold it. Women are more interested in forming a relationship and staying with one man than they are in "playing the field." So with two different attitudes it creates a rift between men and women.

I think that if you want to text him that you should. Men don't necessarily like "the chase." Alot of times it gets annoying when girls expect us to do all of the work pursuing the relationship. Trust me on that one. If you are the type of person who goes after what you want and who likes to be assertive in setting up dates and making the first move then you should do that. It's who you are. If he gets turned off by it then it means that he has a problem with who you are and you don't want to waste time with him.
