At her last Vet visit two weeks ago she seemed healthy. The Vet and I figured up she wouldn't be due until around the 28th. But her milk came in over the weekend should I be expecting her puppies sooner?

No, sometimes the start lactating weeks before birth, it's a good sign. Personally I did the same when I was pregnant with my daughter at only 5 months.

ok here it goes.

I have been asking questions about breeding my self.
And the responses i get arent pretty, the same old stuff i got and noone actually helped me but one person.
By the end of tommorow you should have at lest 8 responses of people being like.
Growl why did you breed her
growl you are an idiot
growl your dog is not good quality
growl do you know how many dog out there are dying
growl you should die
lol..........

but in my personal opinion you should do what you want with your animal as long as you have homes for the puppies!
and noone is left rejected.
I think that if you have atleast rescued one pet from a shelter in your life you have done a deed!!

but lets get to your question) yes her milk should be in already if its not wait another couple of days!
and if it doesnt come in then you have a problem and you will become a mother.
The vet will give you a formula that you will have to feed the puppies every 2 to 3 hours and that is a hassel.
however this is rare, so you dont have anything to worry about
good luck with the family!
what kind of dog is it???
Lucy,

No not necessarily. Sometimes the milk come in a week to 10 days before the puppies arrive. I would defiantly get prepared if I were you. Make sure you have everything on hand just in case she decides to whelp early.
63 days gestation is a general time for the pups to develop it isn't carved in stone. I've had some dams go the entire 63 days some a day or 2 earlier some a day or 2 later.

At the days 50-57 Milk may be squeezes from the nipples and she should be very large. The following week 58-65 a nesting behavior may be seen, she will become distressed panting, pacing , acting uncomfortable, temperature should be around 100.2-100.8 when the temperature drops to around 98-99 puppies should be born within 24 hours , Appetite may disappear as whelping approaches. this is when you should start talking temperature three times a day. Good luck to you and your puppies this will be a great time for you after all the worrying is done lol.

Most dog are pregnant for 63 days.If her milk has came in she may still have a week or two to go. I have had them not get thier milk until after birth. Most dogs will begin to "nest" before labor. She'll get restless and start scratching up her bedding.

Is the milk leaking out of her nipples already? The puppies usually arrive a few days after milk starts leaking...

absolutely...the gestation of a dog is fairly short....she's getting ready to have her puppies soon if she's 51 days
