i use three steps when i paint. i paint top 1/2, then paint bottom 1/2. then i will go back over the area from bottom to top with a some what dry roller. sounds like your putting more pressure on one side of the roller when your rolling. use all the pressure you want when getting the paint on the wall but no pressure when you go back over it. dont let the paint dry while your painting.

To avoid having roller paint lines, do not roll the wall up and down in straight lines. Start by letting your roller take as much paint as it can without dripping. Make a large letter N on the wall, starting at the bottom of the wall and going up to the ceiling. Come back to the beginning of the letter N and now go up and down. This will avoid the straight up and down lines. Also, you may want to do 2 coats and if you do, it's better to do 2 thin coats than one thick one. Let the first coat dry completely before putting on the second one.

Most of those lines are just the shine of the wet paint and should disappear when your done painting. This isn't always the case though. Make sure your roller isn't dry. If it is dry you will be removing absorbing paint rather then putting it on and this will cause there to be lines. Another way to avoid the lines is don't go crazy with your strokes. Be consistent and even, up and down, not every which way. Finally make sure you're using good paint. It goes on smoother. Two coats never hurts either. K, that's the best i got!

Paint in an "X" formation rolling the roller on the wall in big x's. This will help it blend better. You may have to do 2-3 coats depending on how dark the color you are using is. Try and get natural light into the space so you can see where there may be any lines. Most of all, have fun and good luck!

You might be applying too much pressure and your walls could be uneven, this is why they say to do the W thing. Most of the time if it's a faint line your seeing it will dry down fine Don't over roll an area either, when working by yourself paint one wall at a time complete. You should be using a good quality roller nap no thicker than3/8s, good luck and take your time Les the painter

Now you want to sand the wall and patch it over the strains. next time do not placed a lot rigidity on the roller, also use an excellent nap roller verify it has fairly some paint on it and flow with up and down action start up from the door. enable the roller flow over the wall with out urgent it and spread the paint if there is too a lot of it on the wall so it doesn't create drips.also use strong high quality paint like benjamin moore(the great).

Paint smaller sections in a large M then run the roller back over to get rid of the lines.

paint the lighter color and don't load the ends of the roller to much. it drags to the next line and you need to roll it out over the lines more, tilt your roller to the side and knock off the paint on the wall and then roll out the globs and soon you won't streak.
a north/south stroke with east/west as well and the lines should deminish.

You are loading up the roller with too much paint, and not going back and forth over the wall with the roller.

Sand it down when it dries, and paint over it again.

My guess is that you do not have enough paint on your roller. Spread the paint evenly when you are rolling.
