Thinking about getting veneers done, are they worth the money?

My teeth are nice and white, but i have a good size gap between my two front teeth and i cant stand it. I've been told to get veneers i went to my dentist and we talked about it, they definitely sound good and i could have perfect teeth within a month. Does anyone know of and defects they have and if anyone has them how did they turn out of you? In order to fix my teeth i have to get a total of 8 veneers on the top row and thats $10,000.

the price will increase substantially over the course of the lifetime as they have to be replaced on occasion. once you get veneers you can't go back to not having them.
