That's a lot of ibuprofen. The maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses). Use only the smallest amount of ibuprofen needed to get relief from your pain, swelling, or fever.
Symptoms of a ibuprofen overdose may include nausea, vomiting or stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, ringing in the ears, blurred vision, seizures, sweating, numbness or tingling, little or no urine production, and slow breathing. If your pain is not being relieved by that much medication, you should see a dr.

One of the things you have to be careful of with Ibuprofen, is that it can ulcerate your stomach, especially if not taken with food. I have a back problem and many times have taken 6 200mg tablets at a time. thus far I have not had any problems. Just be careful. My dad's wife has rheumatoid arthritis, and takes prescription Ibuprofen, and takes 2 800mg tablets at a time. If you are an adult, it's probably safe. If you experience any stomach discomfort, call your doctor.

Well, I know I took 4 Ibuprofens every 4 - 6 hours when I had Mono. This was the doctor's orders, mind you. Still, Ibuprofen will burn a hole in your stomach if you take it over a long period of time. If you have pain that is requiring that much Ibuprofen, you need to speak to a doctor about it.

Have you heard of Athletes needing liver transplants from taking that much Ibuprofen for pain. These nsaids are much more dangerous than you think. Just because it's sold over the counter, doesn't mean it's harmless. The warnings about maximum per day are there for a good reason. One time probably won't hurt you, But longer term your taking a risk that you should not take.

The maximum dosage you should take in 24 hours is 3200 mg - that equals 16 tablets. Of course that would equate to prescription strength dosage. High doses over long term can damage your kidneys.

This will lead to extreme acidity levels. Appetite will go down.Weakness will complicate the case and it thus becomes a vicious cycle.
