What's the average life span of sperm?

Question

Once a man ejaculates, how long can sperm survive in the open? (outside the vagina of course)

Well it really doesn't have that much time to live, honestly it can die almost immediately. Once in the bagine though it can last up to 72 hours... where it would then take up to 3-5 days to reach the egg depending on where the egg is [[that is unless the vaginal fluids havent killed the sperm by then]]
