Your weight is normal for your height.
At your age the body is changing rapidly and transforming a lot. Nevertheless you can take precations to prevent falling, in the next few years, into what is becoming the norm for American teens: overweight.
The two most important precautions are:
1) MOVE more. DON'T be a couch potato in front of computer games, TV etc...Find some sport, hobby or volunteer activity you like and get going.
2) Stop feeding junk to your body. By that I mean:
SODAs (they have been found to be the worst offender and culprit, just read the labels and see how much sugars and carbs they contain in a whole bottle, they usually disguise it and put it in servings, just multiply the amount of servings in a bottle by the amount per serving and you will see!)
Example: the maximum amount of simple carbohydrates and sugars one should have a day is below 30 to 40 g (for active people). The rest of your energy should come from complex carbos, protein and fat (yes FAT, but healthy ones, such as found in poultry, meat, fish and Olive Oil, your body needs it to make insulation between nerve fibers).
One bottle of soda or fruit juice already has an average of 32 g of sugars!!!! And what is worst, is that they are simple sugars, which digest so fast that the body has no other choice but to immediately deposit it as body fat for future use (which for most kids never come!). The same goes for cookies, cakes, pasta, breads, pizza, french fries etc..
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Honey, you are NOT fat. 5'8-1/2" at 120 you are skinny. I remember that weight, I was 5'8" and 118 when I got married 26 years ago, and I stayed like that until after my 3rd child and even when I gained an extra 10 lbs I was still skinny...there is NO WAY that you are fat. Exercise if you think you need to tighten up...but you are probably Underweight for your height.

i think of that the only way which you will possibly desire to drop some pounds is that in case you have extra fat. you need to be care finished once you look at those charts that say what you ought to weight based on your peak. they do no longer consistently artwork. some people might nicely be very tall, with an exceedingly skinny physique, and then nonetheless have extra fat even although their weight is what the chart says this is going to be. a hundred and twenty feels like a sturdy weight for a guy or woman who's 5'8". yet lower back, it relies upon on different aspects. in keeping with risk the subsequent time you notice your scientific professional you are able to desire to ask her/him this question. Or while you're with the help of your interior of sight YMCA you are able to desire to speak to a private coach (often this is loose there). My wager is which you do no longer might desire to drop some pounds, yet you ought to examine with a professional. sturdy success.

5'8" and a half is pretty tall for a girl. My sister is that tall, and she weighs at least ten pounds more than you, and she is NOT fat. I'm telling you the truth, you're fine. Just find clothes that fit you well and accentuate your waist, and you'll look GREAT! Trust me, a lot of women would pay a lot to be your weight and size!

I'm 5'7" and I'm in 9th grade. I'm a guy. I weigh 112 lbs and I AM really skinny. You are at an incredibly healthy weight for your height. In fact, you are pretty much at a perfect weight. You don't want to lose weight. I weigh 8 lbs less than you and I have to have holes poked into watches for them to fit....yeah. Trust me, you don't want to lose weight. If you're a girl, you're perfect the way you are right now, and I'm sure you're very pretty. If you're a guy, you're at a perfect weight, and I'm sure the ladies love you. Be glad that you ARE NOT fat, because it is really hard to lose weight. You aren't fat.

Get over it - I'm 5'9 and weigh 135 lbs. and I am not fat by any means. In fact, I'm a pretty firm believer that super thin girls are boyish looking. I'd kill for some good curves which I'll bet at your height and your weight, you don't have. Get over the weight thing and just be healthy.

GET OVER IT! You aren't fat, but you probably could firm up what you've got with a good exercise program. If nothing else, it gets you away from obsessing over the little numbers on the scale. Get out and get movin! You'll feel better about yourself!

Your not fat....your not even over weight.
You probably just need to tone your self up.
Do cardio or aerobics 3 times a week for 30 minutes....I'm sure that will start making you feel a lot better about your self.
