there are a (very) few people that pronouce it murcielàgo, that's the first thing you think of when you see it written, but those who know the name policy in lamborghini try to pronounce it in the spanish way, so we keep the accent on the "e". the problem is that we stress it a bit too much, so we pronounce murcièlago (or better, mursièlago) instead of mursiélago.

Actually, it's Spanish, since most of Lamborghini cars are named after breeds of bulls (exception is Countach); Murciélago is spelled moor see eh lah goh
Stressed "e" has an open sound like in "end".
Anyway words with an acute stress in the middle in Italian are quiet common.

From Wikipedia:

"The name

The name Murciélago comes from a bull that survived 23 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Córdoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honor. In another Lamborghini tie-in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls. Murciélago also means bat in Spanish, and a Murciélago roadster is featured briefly in the movie Batman Begins."

Strange name for a car.
In Spanish "murciélago" is a bat.
The accent is on the e.
Maybe Lamborghini was thinking of
the Batmobile(Batman's car).
