I wish that it was mere silliness that could be easily given up. But people take it too seriously, too publicly and all wrong. It is supposed to be a system to develop wisdom, but turns out to be practiced and propigated mostly by the foolish. It is supposed to tell people not to kill, but, well we all know the irony there. It is supposed to help people free themselves of the guilt caused by bad behavior and let people improve themselves, but it ends up being an excuse for continued bad behavior. It is supposed to help people overcome small-minded qualities like greed, but what thing is greedier than sending the rest of the world to hell so that I can go to heaven? Religion should help us cope with the deaths of our elder loved ones, allowing us to take comfort in knowing that our loved ones live on in heaven, but our own small-mindedness makes us so doubtful of our own faith that we KNOW that dead is just DEAD.
I wish it was merely silly. It would be easier to do away with it.

Even if it is false, you have to look at the bigger picture. You may not have a problem life. For those who do, the idea that there is a great beyond for those who practice doing the right thing, will finally be rewarded for the hard decisions and times they went though. That alone, collectively practiced, would improve our global society. People would be more compassionate to others and less likely to be idiototic. If I (and I do) believed that I were going to heaven after I died, then I would tend to look past small things other people do and say, because I know that this is not the end. If I didn't feel that way, I would not value anyone's life. The smallest irritation, would need to be eliminated and destroyed, like a mosquito. If it didn't exist, we would be exstinct, just like some in the animal kingdom. Love, would not exsist, neither would the desire to pro create. Just my opinion.

some religions are silly such as Hinduism and Buddhism. basically only monotheistic faiths such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism are legitimate. even so Christianity makes the most sense to me. scientists don't really know how old the earth is, they have an assumed number but they aren't sure. even carbon dating or radioactive dating can't tell the real ages of fossils and rocks. however because there is nothing impossible with God(Luke 1:37) and it says so in the Bible, Christians know that the earth and the universe were made in 6 days. the bible doesn't say anything about evolution it just said that god created the beasts of the ground, air,and sea,and then He created man. animals don't get into heaven because they have no soul.

Whats it to you if the Creator of us all made us to evolve spiritually. Wouldn't it be your highest aspiration to do as God wills? Do you really know anything about religion beside what you see around you that people call religion? If you are interested in religion investigate. If not quit trying to convince yourself and others there is nothing there and get on with your, you know, existence. Isn't it just a bit silly to try to convince others of what you believe in when you believe in nothing? Isn't it a bit silly to try to persuade yourself that Jesus words are baloney when they have made so much difference in the world of humanity, albeit that clergy and state used it to take people to war or some other shenanigans. Its the goldend age of information sonny. Get off your couch and onto the clouds of confusion (internet) to see if you can find the truth.

It is how you define religion and yes perhaps it gets
to a point where it seems silly for some people
Some churches do take it way too far and get
carried away like over kill
You are going to hell , you are going to hell and blah blah
And yes I do believe there is another life after this and in
my very own opinion and there truly is a heaven
And most of us will find out on our
own if there is a God and Jesus in heaven
Yes I believe in the Lord God and Jesus and I will go
to heaven after this life is over
And religion has nothing to do with getting to heaven no
Jesus did not like the religious people back then
and yes people were filled
with religion and it did nothing for them back then
around the times of Jesus

You sound ignorant. Before you critisize religion why dont you get a Bible or a Torah or something and read. You seem like a crazy scientist who doesn't believe anyone but him tells the truth. You are so stubborn to question God's Word. I hope you change before it's just too late

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
There are many things that "seem" to be....but they may not be the way they are.
It is not possible for you to comprehend some of the things a believer might say. Particularly if you believe we are no more then animals..
1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

I believe in God because how did we get here or a complex universe or conscious thought or my prayers answered ,but religion is a bit silly because people believe an old book that they dont know is factual or not.they were not alive to know any thing about its accuracy.I let God talk to me ,not others who know nothing but written words and dont think for themselves

People feel the need to be.. more then they are.
They think.. well life sucks now, but in the end, it will be great. Well dont they ALWAYS think that?
Some folks have just taken it to the next step.
I am doubtful of a afterlife, but hey who knows.
