When they find out your religious believes, they try to talk to you about their believes and tell you they're not trying to convert you, yet they tell you about all the "truths" that prove their believes, This is very hipocritical and they seem to think that it's not trying to convert people. And please use clean language and no insults.

I do understand that most people do this because they care, and want to share their believes with everyone becasue it makes them feel great, and feel that others would benefit from this. The thing is that that I've had some experiences where the individual is too persistant, as though they want you to belief, and it just makes me very upset. It's good to have talks and so on but not when the other party keeps telling you that you are going to hell and start getting a little out of hand, when you yourself don't believe in such a thing. I have nothing against other's believes but I do live a life of live and let live, yet others make it hard.
Don't get me wrong, i have friends who are christina, catholic, buhddist(sorry if the spelling is off), and of other faiths, and they respect me and my believes to the point where religion in all is not spoken at all.

I only do this with non-Christians. I want to show my beliefs, what I believe to be true, and then let them decide.

Because when you have something amazing you want to share it with everyone. If you've gone to the best mechanic in the world and he charges you a really fair price for excellent work, you tell all your friends about it, even if they have their own mechanic, just because you want everyone to have the same great experience you had (because they're your friends and you care about them. If you have a great relationship with God and He makes you feel loved and safe and amazing, you just want to share that with the people you love because you want them to feel loved and safe and amazing. It's not that you dislike (or even understand) their religion, it's just that you've had such an amazing experience that you can't keep it to yourself. When someone does this to you, instead of being insulted, just realize that they want the best experience for you possible and since they've had this great experience, they just want to share it.

SAMI,
The greatest thing about this site is that everyone may express their beliefs and share their concerns giving and taking from one another without anyone being hurt in any way. I want to believe that I am always right about my view of the CHURCH of CHRIST but if I am wrong I certainly need to know what is right and where to find it in the Bible so that I may check it out myself. Each of us is to face the Judgment and I want to knwo that what I believe is RIGHT on the MARK! I certainly see nothing wrong with anyone else attempting to change my belief if there is something wrong with it as long as I am able to have input also. I hope that this makes some sense to you. Have a great day!
Thanks,
Eds, Christian

If you're talking about Christians, it's because Christ commanded His followers to tell the good news of salvation through His atoning death on the Cross to all nations. We tell others about Him because we love Him and obey His commandments.
If you ask me and are interested, I can tell you what I believe and why I believe it. What you choose to do with that information is up to you. Do I hope that you will accept Christ as your Savior? Very much so.
If that means I'm trying to "convert" you, then I'll plead guilty as charged. I want to see everyone living a peaceful and happy life, secure in the love of God. I'm upfront about what I believe, and I don't see anything hypocritical about that -- just the opposite, in fact.

Just because they tell you about theur religion that doesn't mean they're tyying to convert you. Maybe they just just want to share something with you. No one can make anyone convert to a different religion. But I understand what you're saying, if someone religious is talking to you about something you've heard already and youre just not interested politely tell you don't give a crap, im not saying religion is bad though because i live in a Christian family.

A seed cannot be planted upon unprepared ground.
We can listen but not hear, talk, but not understand.
Until you drink of the cup of Bitterness, you cannot understand what that means. I think that when people are first converted and are immersed in the Life of God, it is difficult to stop spouting, since it is a perfect remedy for what ails us and the world. However, until you are ready to hear it, it will have the opposite effect.

Most "religious people" do not know how to share their faith. The best way is to show it in their life and how they live so that their words have weight. However, do not throw out the baby with the bathwater on this point. The message remains the same. Jesus is the only Way to the Father.

I'm christian and I don't try to convert anyone. I figure that our job was to tell the world about Jesus, and I think its pretty much done. If they choose to reject Him, that's their choice. I have some very weird beliefs myself, that don't always reflect any particular denomination. The division of christianity into denominations and the whole "who's right and who's wrong", is the biggest problem we have.

I will try to convert you if I get a chance, but if you tell me you don't want to hear it, I can go away and leave you alone.
I think everybody should have a chance to know what it's like to really feel the Spirit of God.
