My 6 year old son had a head injury yesterday. There was no loss of consciousness, however, approximately 18 hours after he developed a high temperature (105), which is controllable when given cataflam. The fever is recurring after approximately 4 hours and usually in the same range (104.5 - 105)

He complains of headache and he seems disoriented (only with the fever)

He has no other symptoms (like cough, sneezes, etc...to indicate a viral or bacterial infection)

Can this be associated with a serious head injury?

What in the world are you asking this question for - get to the Hospital or at least a pediatrician.

The disorientation could be due to the fact that the brain begins to get damaged at 105*F temperature.

You have to get that child to the ER or at least his pediatrician very soon.

It doesn't matter what the cause is,he needs to get to the ER now for an evaluation ASAP,the fall and blow to the head is always a reason to go to the ER.The fever is way to high and is re-occurring despite febrile measures. GO ! SW FNP

My god, mother!!! Take the child to the ER now. A fever of 105 in a child can be deadly. For cripe's sake!!!!!

Scary...so, so scary. This question has to be a joke.
