Over time, people trying to depict someone/thing from their subjective imaginations. I won't get all historical on you, but it's really the bottom line. & shame on Schneb; I LOVE your kitty avatar. (Maybe someone needs glasses?)

The red color is from more recent cartoon depictions. The tail, I think, was added just for fun.

The Bible says that the devil appears as an angel of light. The book of Mormon was given to Joseph Smith from just such an angel.

I don't know...do you have any pictures of yourself as you grew and became the age you are. That might give you an idea. Actually satan is the mind of man turned away from God. If you are turned away from God you are satan. Do you know what God expects of human creation in this day? If you don't you could be satan. If you start trying to find out and glom onto some apostate religion as your answer you could be satan. If you purify your heart, in other words abandon your preconceived ideas, prejudices and the like and prepare yourself to receive the truth you might have a chance. Question everything.

The bible says he looks like an angel of light. He must be much handsome than Jesus. Please find the one that saves and not destroys and I would bet you find Jesus is the one that saves though he may not be as handsome as the Devil.
