This question is to challenge those who oppose anyone who does not believe as they do. Perhaps they are uncomfortable and not as convinced of their beliefs as they would like to be.

I did look them up and etymology has the roots of both words in the belief of a God. So athiest=one without a belief in God or the belief in the theology of God. Point is that I think you have every right to be on this site and those who are threatened by a difference of beliefs are not strong in their faith and need to hang out on sites where their beliefs are not challenged. Further I feel that the attacks on others beliefs, are counter productive and cause further anamosities.

Well, theist does not equal theology. They're two different words with two different meanings. You should look them up.

An atheist believes with some confidence that there is NO god. S/he doesn't just look indifferently on the nature of religion and faith and shrug with an "Idunno". If you're asking about people without faith you're asking about a quite different constituency from those who have rejected faith. Get your definitions right.

I believed in God. For 20 years or so. You can't grow up in the Church and not believe some of it at least! But I finally shook loose the madness! I asked my own questions and got my own answers. It was hard. But it was worth it!!!
