The better question would be "Could a person who truly has Christ as their Lord go get baptised as a Mormon, or would the act verify that their conversion was false?"

What sins verify that a conversion is false? You have admitted joining the Mormon Church does. I assume you are still capable of sin. If you sin, does that verify your conversion was false?

Ask God, in the name of Jesus. He is the judge of who is or isn't saved.

I sure don't believe that one is going to hell for joining the wrong denomination.

Clearly there is only one way to receive salvation; to know God and His Son, Jesus (John 17:3). It is not done by works, but by faith (Romans 1:17, 3:28). When we have this faith, we will automatically be obedient to God's laws and become baptized out of love for Him, but not because it is a requirement for salvation. We can receive this gift no matter who we are or what we have done (Romans 3:22). “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Although Mormons are usually friendly, loving, and kind people - they are involved in a false religion that distorts the nature of God, the Person of Jesus Christ, and the means of salvation

If You were drafted in the NFL by the NY Jets as a quarterback then you went onto play for another team and wound up playing against the Jets...would the Jets still give you protection coverage on the field????

Mormonism is not in line with the teachings of Jesus.
It would be like saying you accepted Jesus as your Savior and then practiced Buddhism which is non-theistic.
The two do not mesh.

nope!! Mormon baptisms are of the devil. The Mormon church will be the antichrist in the last days. They believe that their prophet will save them, not Jesus. A mormon baptism is not a real baptism. You need to go to a real Christian church and get baptized there. I tell you no lies, you need to get out of there, quickly, before they tottally suck you in. They are controllers. Only people who like to be controlled go to that church. RUN my friend, Run to Jesus, and get out of the mormon religion.
