Anal retentive--the term is often used to describe a person deemed to be overly obsessed with minor details. Its roots are said to be from Sigmund Freud.
The term is often used in a derogatory sense to describe a person with such attention to detail and/or need to analyze every situation that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others, and this can be socially detriment of the so-called anal-retentive person.

My Oldest sister!!HaHaha!!! Or "Paranoid" is a better word!! Just kidding... there usually very, highly intellectual individual's, and just love to evaluate everything to every degree! And I dont see anything so wrong with this so long as their not the arguementative types, you know.. If they are, I could see you assuming their crazy, when she/he's just simply "Over-analyzing" things, or their on drugs, and are really just delutional !!! This person you describe sounds to me like my EX-husband !!! He flat-out drove me Nutz!!! He would make up things to argue about!! That's how much of an A--H-LE, he was!!!! I always thought he was CRAZY!! I even began to call him by my "Wicked Step-Mother's Name!! That's how much he was driving me Nutz!!! People like that need to be completely away from anyone who cares about them, because I think their capable of "Murder!!" I used to think my Ex, was anyway!! Until I devorced him!! Now I dont have to worry about his insane accusations anymore!! He was just flat-out crazy, and abusive to me!! Thank-God, I'm out of that marriage!! And he's way on the other side of town!! Just be careful , is my suggestion to you, hun!!!
