There are many examples:

- All the smokers who have heard time and time again the dangers of smoking to themselves and those around them.

- That girl that always ends up with the cheating boyfriends who knows that she's ignoring the fact that loyal guys are out there.

- Trying to do well on a test, knowing you need to study, but not studying.

Do you think it's because there's always the chance that the advice just SOUNDS good, but actually there's no saying what causes what?

It is because it is human nature to do what is easy, not necessarily right.

No; I think it's because doing the right thing isn't always pleasant, and nobody likes to do unpleasant things. Smokers like their cigarettes (and many are very hooked, in addition); women who are with a guy who cheats often think that a cheating guy is better than NO guy because they've been taught so; studying is generally nobody's idea of fun, so sometimes we don't do it in favor of doing something we DO like. It's just human nature to do what we want, rather than what we SHOULD.

No one likes to admit they are wrong and someone else is right.People have a lot of pride
and can be very stubborn.Believing nothing bad can happen to them by smoking. Not studying because they simply don't want to.Girls who chose guys that treat them bad by cheating only because of their self esteem. It's good to hear wisdom from others and listen. But our human nature is what you call a know it all.
