Can only be done with an digital copier, and it would have instructions.

well the copy machine has to have an interface that will speak to a pc, and then the pc has to have software that will work with the image. what you may be thinking about is an "all in one" printer that allows the printer to act as a scanner and a copy machine, these printers have the software included to do that type of work.
