My guess is you removed the flash drive before the files were finished copying. Before removing the flash drive, click the icon in the system tray to remove the drive. The computer should tell you when it is safe to remove it.

What operating system does your husband have? If it is Windows 98 or earlier, you will need a driver to get that to work. You may need one for Windows 2000. I forget. XP should work. The only other problem would be if the ports on your husbands computer are USB 1.0 and the device is 2.0, although most manufacturers build those things to step down to an earllier version. Good luck.

No you can take file from any computer and use them on another computer, what may have happened is your husbands computer may not have had the software installed to open your daughters files

Did you eject the drive before you removed it? if not you probably had your files corrupted when you pulled it out. Re copy the files onto your drive then (in the lower right hand corner of the screen) left click on the green arrow and click the top one. if you don't know where that is then just shut the comp down with the drive in it and then pull the drive out.

your husbands computer may not have the right applications to open the files that you removed from your daughters computer. do the icons have that microsoft logo on them. if so, you are missing the proper application. go back and check with her system to see what opens them

Huh, what kind of files? They should work on any computer that has a program to read the format.

No they should work on any PC. All I can think of is that you may have saved a shortcut to the files on your daughter's pc, instead of the actual file...
