take the peeler, cover the blade part with a piece of paper towel and tape. Then go to the trash can and let go making sure the peeler falls into the trashcan. Just throw it away and get a new one. But make sure you cover it before you toss it because it will then cut the trash bag and then you will be left with a huge mess...

You can run it back and forth across the edge of a sharpening stone, or up and down a ceramic sharpening stick. But really, if you have to ask and if you don't have those things hanging around, just get a new one. You won't get that great an edge back on your old one. But I understand, if you want to give it a try, have fun (yes, I've done it).

You can use a small file, but by the time it takes you to find a file and actually sharpen the blades, you could have driven to the nearest market and bought one for like a dollar.
