Be friends only and as friends he should respect you, if you are uncomfortable with his flirting, you need to tell him how you feel about it. Feeling sorry for him is not being a friend, but could become his crutch to take advantage of you. You may see what's really going on in his life, and if it's that bad at his home maybe the law should step in and help.

Just be honest with him. Im sure he will appreciate your honesty, even if it hurts at first. You cannot continue to pretend there is something there is not, otherwise you may make him think you like him more and end up hurting him more in the end. Just because his life is bad is no reason to fake feelings for him. My suggestion: BE HONEST

just continue being nice, that's all. there is no reason you have to give an answer or reason of whether you like him or not...just be friendly, but not more friendly to him than you would act toward your other friends. it's nice of you to think of his feelings and background...just continue as you have been, and keep trying not to play "footsies"...good luck. you sound like a nice person, and it sounds like he may need a good friend. if he pushes you for more than friendship, let him know nicely that you are just friends.

Well, if you don't want to hurt him, the best thing to do is be honest with him and not let him go on believing he has a chance with you. Be friendly, but let him know that you're not interested in anything beyond friendship.

i think that wat he needs more then a girl friend (what he wants of u) is a friend. but dont say the typical "im sry i dont like u but lets be friends" thing becasue that always hurts. at first try and distance urself from him a bit. when he talks to u when ur in a group kind of brush him off. after a few days of that ask him how every thing is going-better online or on the fone- try to develoup a friendship with him even if you dont want to be his friend...becasue its not about wat u want its about what he NEEDS. i hope that'll help and im sry if it doesnt but that is a realy tough situation lol. good luck!

Be honest with him. It will hurt him less in the long run than any amount of trying to spare his feelings. If you pretend to like him now, he will be crushed later.

What goes on in his home has nothing to do with you, if you don't like him them let him know. Yes it's unfortunate, but this is your life, don't let it hold you back. It's just more trouble for you if he thinks you are returning the feelings.

There is simply one thing to do. Tell him the truth and tell him you don't like him that way. Any way other than that would be hurting him more.
Thanks for your time and Good Luck.

just ignore the heck out of him and try to find someone else that can understand and relate to the situation he's in.
dont get involved because before you know it he's going to get you involved, and possibly use you.
