i think yes they do but then again it is always up to the child if he/she wants to engage in such acts . it happens in regular schools too so , it is just much juicier to hear it happening from a place you think is too private

All schools, boarding school or not, have secrets.
I am a child but I just got accepted into a boarding school (still thinking whether I should go or not) but I am going because the school I applied to has a great education system (college prep. boarding school), is really into sports and living a healthy lifestyle, etc... also, I want to learn to be independent while still being under my parent's care so I can prepare for college when I am completely free. At that boarding school, they have so many activities that engage the students and faculty into it that it makes it hard for someone to not be social. Living with your friends and doing everything together? That is amazing!
Those are the pros.
I can't really think of any cons except that the child may get homesick, boarding school leaves a MASSIVE dent in your wallet, and ... it might not be for your child if your child does not like being around people 24/7.

The only instance in which I would consider boarding school, would be only and only if it would be of greater benefit to my child's education and offer better opportunities. Personally, I would not send my kid to boarding school. I try to be as involved as possible with my child's schooling. As far as the homosexuality and unspeakable acts, that can happen regardless of where your child is in school. Just because it's a school of only boys/girls, that does not mean that stuff will happen. No one ever knows what truly goes on anywhere unless they are involved. If you are considering boarding school, do some research. Collect as much info as possible so you can make a well informed decision. Quite honestly, that really applies to every major decision you'll ever have to make for your kids.

Yes at some point for some kids and levels of society it can be a good thing. It can promote focus instead of playing videos and constantly worrying about their social life so it is Ok if the parents participate as well.
For you average skaterat or rapper want to be? It probably wont work as their parents are probably not so engaged. For the kid from an educated family and realizes that it is not about "unspeakable" acts and has sense enough to understand that...... it will.
Think about it this way. Going to college is like boarding school as your parents are paying and you have to take responsibility. Going to a school in high school is the same.... just sooner.

if a child is not homosexual they are not likley to engage in homosexuality just because they are at boarding school - and vice versa if the child is homosexual they are just as likley to participate in homosexual activities if they are not at boarding school
I dont want to know what unspeakable acts your thinking of - i think you are a very perverse and disturbed individual if you are imagining these things
boarding schools can be good for the child if they do not have a good stable home like or need additional structure that they cannot get at home

I would send my child to one.
Reason being I want him/her to learn to be independent. Exposure to all those "secrets" are good in way.. somehow its a test for him/her. Of coz, if he/she is not stong enough... then well.. :(
basically, I am the type that would not stop my kid from touching the kettle when its hot.. because they have to learn it the hard way sometimes.. Not that I am gonna abuse my kids..

boarding schools are for parents who really don't want to be parents so they send the kids away.

its definitely up to the kid, but don't send them away if you can spend time with them. kids need their parents, even if they don't show it. if your kid is a "troubled" kid ie. is doing drugs and what not, i wouldn't send them off to boarding school because then they would feel rejected and feel the need to act up more. but spend time with your kid-don't send them off to boarding school unless they really want to.
