I know, it's insane. I don't think I worried about my body until I was 18 (I'm 23 now).
I think a lot of them do it for attention. Knowing they don't have a problem at all. Maybe they should get outside and exercise instead of blobbing in front of a computer?? As a lot of the questions they ask have logical answers, i.e. check your BMI online, exercise and eat healthy. Where are these kids parents? And how are they being bought up to have issues with their bodies at the age of 13 is what I wonder!
EDIT: I am extremely curious about what 'stress' a 13 year old faces? I'm pretty sure many don't know the meaning of the word.

I'm 15, and I worry about it sometimes, but not all the time. Sometimes I feel awesome about, other times I feel too chunky around the hips.Yes I admit it. It's gotten ridiculous though. At my lunch table there are 4 girls on a diet! They're either eating Special K, a bit of fruit, or some crackers with cheese. I'm the only one eating fries and burgers, it's crazy!!!! I'm trying to tone up, not lose weight. I want to play soccer next year you see. lol, but it's crazy I think. Why can't we just eat and be happy? It's the media I think, all of the teen fashions look good on zeros, not a size 11 or even 9. It sucks, but hopefully it will change soon. Plus I have my mom to make sure I don't do anything drastic, she's always telling me I'm "dumb" for trying to be on a diet anyway. lol!

I'm 19 years old.and I can tell u that I had never been worried that much about my weight except few moment.and the raison is that I used to dance ballet till age of 10.and even when I stopped it my body kept ideal.so It was not a very big deal to me as long as I know how to communicate with my body.
but as answer for ur question, girls carre a lot about their weight because they dream to be like stars who in my opinion are sometimes slim than normal.
girls want to be slinder in order to enjoy wearing what they want in the beach lol
and I am happy I don't have those problems

BEcause we have so much stress in our life, and we have other kids we go to school with, who are very mean about weight. If you gain one pound, someone will notice, and make fun of you. THat is why we are so obsessed, because high school girls are MEAN about weight. I'd know, people make fun of me all the time for being overweight, then for being too skinny, you can never win...IT's probably never going to change, unless girls somehow become nicer...WHihc won't happen...

because it obviously isn't the weight they are worried about. they want to fit in, or be told they aren't fat for some reason. they come here looking for help with eating disorders or self esteem. the weight issue is just a symptom of those things. and we realise that, even if they don't.
