My mother has this growth on her leg. it itches her very badly. We have tried many kinds of creams to relieve the itching thinking that once she stops scratching that the growth will go away. The creams only work for a short while then the next time i visit her the growth is double the size as the time i was there before and not her itch is soo bad, that you can see the gut. She refuses to go to the doctor and thinks it is not serious. She once had this same growth on her neck but it went away but the one on her leg seems to be stubborn.

Does anybody out there know what this fungal looking growth may be, where it may have come from, and the best trreatment?

Ask her to go to the chemist with you and show them. Ask to speak to the pharmacist. They have a lot of experience and they may well tell your mother to see the doctor. She might take it from them! Or if it's something they've seen before they will know the best treatment to offer her.

Best wishes.

It sounds like eczema to me & the best thing to do right away, is to schedule an appointment for your mom with a dermatologist. They're specialists when it comes to skin conditions. Insist that your mom see the doctor & accompany her on the day of her appointment.
