it really depends on the body composition of the individual and the daily level of activity.

for healthy people 40% of the daily calories from carbohydrates is more than enough. the majority of carbs consumed should be low GI, this is what gets most people into trouble as the average person does not consume low GI carbs.

the fiber intake is inversely proportionally to serum insulin levels. as the fiber intake is increased serum insulin levels will decrease and vice versa.
