if you are friends with people of opposite sex, how would you know whether that person is asking you out or just wanted to chill with you as friends?
when you ask out someone, what do you do to make that distinction?

Is this person asking you to go to the movies with just him or is he asking you to hang out and watch the mens college basketball game or some other sport thing? Until he comes out and tells you that he likes you as more than a friend, then don't take this for more than what it is. Sounds to me like he is just asking you to chill with him. It really is kind of hard to not know when a guy is asking you out. If you have feelings for him, talk to him about it. Ask him if you can be more than friends. If he says no, drop the subject and never bring it up again, unless you want to lose a good friend. There are not too many women that like to do "guy" things, maybe he just enjoys your company as a good friend and he knows that he can have fun and do "guy" things with you.

at an early stage there is no real distinction its only as you get to know each other that you can make the transition from friends to more than friends
