It blows me away that the companies that make these products are doing so well. Why aren't more Americans into healthy foods? I love whole-grain bread and water with a sprig of lemon much more than white bread and a soda.
I will admit that I am a former occasional junk-food junkie but changed a couple of years ago when I heard about the garbage that's in them---eventually I stopped liking the taste of them.
Now this information is widely spoken of on TV and News sources, i.e. Trans-fat and high-fructose corn syrup yet people still snatch them off the shelves---I don't get it.

You know at this point it's because bodies are so addicted to the chemicals and partially because our government does very little to nothing to educate the people. Sure there may be an occassional commerical or program on cable or late night special but for the most part the FDA does not want to public to know because it would affect many rich people from the company owners to cancer research funding. Otherwise they would ban most of the disgusting fast foods and foods on the grocery store shelves.

I agree.... I hate how everything is processed now

it's like they assume that nobody wants real food

organic is a specialty and usually more expensive

all this processed genetically enhanced food is going to end up giving everyone cancer.....

our society live in the present and we have a complete disregard for the future

our favorite thing to do is fix the problem after it starts rather then prevent it from happening in the first place

were all so ... ahh .. I hate it

theres no wonder why there are so many fat a$$es out there, so many unhealty Americans

A lot of people don't pay attention to the food labels and nutritional facts. For some people it feels good to have that donut after a long day. Commercials also come in factor and people have that mental image of the high fat food and having a good time. It's also in our ancestors. We probably enjoyed high fat because it helped us survive as early humans.

Usually people who are cash poor, live in poverty, cant cook, dont care about themseles, like junk-food, and are uneducated about the dangers of those foods buy it. Theres a theory that those types of foods can become addicting because of all the chemicals and by-products in them - hence the 'cravings'.

Because most Americans are not educated enough on this subject, and 90 per cent find out the hard way by diabetes or other medical problems.

The average person just does what feels good and what he's accustomed to regardless of the consequences. That's why people smoke in spite of the fact that it causes cancer. What this world needs is more people with enough character to do what they know is right instead of doing what feels good.

Because they taste good. And you haven't actually stopped liking the taste of them, you've actually trained yourself to associate their taste with the negative thoughts of the chemicals in them. YOU HAVE BRAINWASHED YOURSELF OUT OF HAPPINESS

Because they can. A little of what you fancy does you good some times. Don't worry about it, you don't have to live in their bodies. Live and let live and get out more
