Allah is the word for God. They are basically the same concept but the way someone chooses to believe in Him is different.
And i think you're absolutely right all this fighting isn't going to come to a conclusion and there is no point to it.

The Muslim description of Allah is so very different from the Christian description of God, that it doesn-t really seem to be the same God.
We shouldn't be bickering and fighting - certainly not bout matters of faith, but it is normal that we proclaim what we believe to be the truth, and that results in opposite messages from the two respective religions.
So -
Mutual respect, we should have
Backing down on our convictions, no.
Only in spiritual matters do otherwise inteligent people want us to say: "Well, actually everybody is right. It makes no difference".
For scientists, or medical doctors, or mathematicians to say something like that would seem ridiculous and sometimes dangerous.

Do you see the spelling between these two names? Even Christians aren't united when it comes to the true name of the Almighty! The Jews, as the rest of Christendom, are superstitious about the pronunciation of His Name, yet only one united brotherhood of peace loving and God fearing people are proud to announce and spread His name, which is Jehovah, and of His coming Kingdom, approaching with His Son, Christ Jesus, as King and Redeemer for all peace loving and God fearing men! This is also why Jehovah's Witnesses will not bear arms, but stand neutral in all of mankind's governments, politics, and wars!

Allah means "God" but that alone does not make them the same God. The Bible has descriptions of God that are not found in the Muslim book.

Wrong. Allah has no son.
The God of both the Tonakh and the New Testament prove that God has a Son who will come as the redeemer as noted in Hebrews 1:4-10
Only the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob can prophesy and prove His deity. (see link)

In Islam, Allah is the One and Only God (without any partner) 112:1, the supreme Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as well as of Jesus and Muhammad. The difference is that Jesus is not seen as God and the Savior who died for our sins.
Abraham had a son with the maidservant Hagar, named Ishmael. They were banned and settled to what is now known as Mecca. The arabic nation comes from Ishmael.

If you look at the history of the monoesthetic religions, i.e, christianity, islam and judaism you will find that it is the same god that created adam and eve and from them came the offspring of many. This includes jesus, moses, abraham, muhammad, peace be upon them all. They all preaced the same thing, to believe in one god and not to associate anything with him and to follow his rules.
The revelations that have come in the past have been manipulated with time and so created many distorted paths from the truth.
The last revelation which is the quaran, the direct word of god preaches the same as other revelations have doen in the past, to believe in one god.
Obviously people of different religions will disagree to this because they believe there own religion to be correct. Most of the time it is due to ignorance and just believing what they see in the media.
If there is one god it doesnt make sence for there to be different one gods. it is the religions or doctrines that show differences, but the characteristics of god stay the same. i.e he is eternal, never created and will never die, omnipotent, all seeing and all hearing etc

No, I would think that Allah/God does not approve of the fighting. But christians insist that Jesus(pbuh) is the son of god and believe in a holy trinity. To muslims Jesus (pbuh) is a great prophet but not the son of god. The Quran specifically states the God has no partners and no sons, and to assign them to him is haram.

Muslims think they believe in the same God as Christians. Christians don't think they believe in the same God as Muslims.
Allah is just God translated into Arabic.

These two passages from the Qur'an are a direct attack on Christianity.
No where in our book do we directly attack them!
[9:30] The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of GOD," while the Christians said, "Jesus is the son of GOD!" These are blasphemies uttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surely deviated.
[4:157] And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.
