I know you'll probably say "God didn't create sin, we did", but where did god get all the different rules and sins from?
I'm talking about things like lying, homosexuality, adultery... Where did he come up with this list of specific sins, and why?
You can't say that the reason they're sins is because they go against god's nature either, because that would mean that god lives by a set of rules, and that something would have had to give him these rules etc...

And why not add more, like "Thou shall not persecute others for their beliefs"

First of all, who are these arrogant people who can say they have even a clue what God thinks is a sin, or anything else He thinks?
These are man made rules, issued by the religious idiots in order to control mankind. and their money.
First of all, there is no such thing as sin. Sin is different from culture to culture. You can be killed just for the "sin" of adultry in some countries. Oral sex is a "sin" in others. How can anyone be ignorant enough to say that what God wants has anything to do with all this?
Religion was created eons ago to control the ignorant masses and their money, and still works incredibly well today.
A mythical place called heaven was invented to show them their reward for being obedient, and the the horrors of a mythical place called hell was invented to terrify them of disobeying the churches orders.
This all works well due to man's fear of death, and his inability to explain his existence.
None of us have a clue what created all of this, but whatever did, it gave us a brain to recognize truth from b...sh...t.
Guess what my brain recognizes.

Two of mans important purposes for being here are 1 praise God, 2 add jewels to the crown of Jesus by bringing more people to Christ. This is worded as a difficult question, but it's very simple. The answer is this, The world is Gods and everything in it belongs to him. Just as you make the rules for your house, God gives us rules to follow. The parents set the rules for the home not the child. When a child ask why is stealing is bad what do answer him? You tell him that's not the way that he should live, God does the same thing to us. Just as our kids have the choice to obey and be prosperous, we have the same choice. Only our reward for disobedience is eternal damnation in hell. This is not for you to agree with, this is the truth. All will bow to God, you can either know Him as Father or Judge.

I know you'll probably say "God didn't create sin, we did"
But honestly, that's true.
When Adam and Eve ate from the tree in the garden that God told them that that was the ONLY tree in the whole garden NOT to eat off of, then it is when sin was "created".
That was the very first sin.
After eating the fruit from the tree, Adam and Eve now had some of the knowledge God had. They now knew right from wrong.
God gave us free will, so we have a choice in how we live. We choose whether or not we are going to do something, knowing whether it is right or wrong to begin with. Our conscience knows if it is right or wrong.
The disciples that physically "wrote" the bible down were told by God what "the" sins were.
But they are just the basic things that you could do wrong.
We already know what is right or wrong, without the Ten Commandments. (which im guessing is the list your talking about?)
There is NOT a list of sins. There is just a list of things not to do.
He "created" this "list" because we created sin.

That is a very good question. It would be easy to say that such a question would question God hand's in creating the Bible but that is not an interesting question/answer, lets look deeper.
First you should specify some of the rules you are asking about in order for you to get a better answer.
So now, some of the rules dating back to Old Testament times are meant to create tribal cohesiveness or are economic arrangements. They are basically rules or laws meant to ensure the distinct cultural and religious survival of the tribe (Hebrew) or nation (Jewish). For example: circumcision.
Now when Jesus comes into the picture he actually puts into question many of the hundreds of rules and regulations that the Jewish people had all put together. When put to task by Jewish authorities, Jesus answers that the greatest commandment is to love God and your neighbor as yourself. This is not a "Do not..." commandment it is an affirmative commandment requiring us to act.
I think this is purposefully vague however and as a result the Christians later created their own set of laws and rules which come together to form a faith tradition, or religion...again it seems like more rules are created...just go to a Catholic Mass and youll see, but it is easy to mistake what looks like rules for what is simply a traditional way of doing things.

God didn't decide that these things were bad, He just let us know that they were. He had a Law under the Mosaic covenant, and to break that law was sin. Not that wearing mixed fabrics was a sin, but rejecting God's Law for Israel was. The bottom line is that God is good and goodness is defined by His nature. Some things were spelled out for us because we don't know them instinctively, but not all sins are listed in the Bible. Since passion and chemistry can lead us to rationalize some sins, God gave us instruction where we can't trust our own nature. All the law is summed up in the commandment to love God with all your being and to love your neighbor as yourself. God didn't "get" a list of rules; He is the Rule. And we all fall short. So He reconciles us to Himself by grace through faith in the ultimate example of love, the laying down of His life for us in Christ. Your question is almost at the same level as the "who made God" question. No one made Him and no one told Him what is right and what is wrong. He is the standard. He is the uncaused first cause. He loves you and wants you to be His child.

In the beginning, before Satan tempted Eve, Adam would walk in the garden with God. They had a close personal relationship. Adam was taught by God, the proper way to behave, what things were right etc. Adam gave names to all the animals in Eden. Even though he was close with God, Adam needed someone like himself to relate to, so God made Eve.
God made certain rules for behavior in the garden, and sin began when Adam and Eve broke the rules God made for them. They sinned further when they listened to Satan and disobeyed God. Adam sinned knowingly. that is rebellion and disobedience.
Later God gave rules to his people to follow, including the sexual laws you mention.
These laws were for the moral guidance and protection of his people. Some of the laws were to protect their health.
Some sins cause diseases, others cause the destruction of the family. So, you see, there were reasons for all of it.

God gave us the rules to live by that would make us happy, healthy, etc. etc. When we deviated from those rules, broke the rules so to speak, we created sin by doing so
It's like when a child breaks the parental rules that are set up for his/her own good, he/she gets into trouble. Same for the breaking of God's rules (sin), we get into trouble.

You place God at your very ignorant level. Worse, your ignorance smacks of pride. You equate yourself with God--your maker, your keeper.
In answer to your question, God does not operate at our human reasoning. He is way higher than anything we can conceive. Your speech-where does it come from? Not that you can know. God lays down the rules. Just like you cannot rationalise with a 2yr old, because he/she does not yet underatnd your concepts, but rather you give simple clear instructions. So also, God gives clear instructions. You are that 2yr old. But unlike the human child, you are already too proud to learn-because you thing even adults must learn from you. There is no way you will not have your hand burnt. May God have mercy on your soul

Satan. My friend, please understand that God did not create sin neither did man, satan did. And while many people don't understand this, Adam and Eve did not create the original sin. You are aware of this aren't you? Every creature that God made was holy and good and sinless. Not one sinful, wicked creature or act was ever made or decided by God.

Oops no stupid answers. Well when you quit defining how I can and cannot answer you then I can tell you the truth but if you are going to say it has to be thus and so then I am limited to a less than truthful answer... ergo, less than intelligent.
