See if you can do something that mobilizes more than one volunteer. Take a look at your community and look for something that needs doing, that you and a group of students can do.

For example, if there's a nursing home in your neighborhood, do they invite teenagers to help? If so, perhaps you can plan a fashion show the day after prom, where girls can model their prom gowns for the patients. Guys can wear their tuxes, you can serve refreshments, ask about their formal dances and liven up the place for an hour or two.

Or is there a park that needs cleaning, a wall that needs graffit removed, a house that needs minor repairs or painting, etc.????? Ask your neighbors, your minister, your banker, the local Rotary or Lions club president, etc. The town movers and shakers know about projects that are just waiting for someone to step up to help.

If you can get a group together your project will not only show value, but leadership and you'll probably have a lot of fun too.

Good luck!
