If you have a career with a promising future and good pay, then you are old enough to be a parent. But seriously, don't waste your youth settling down and having kids. If you are under the age of 30 you should be out having fun, traveling, partying, meeting new people, and enjoying life. Once you have a family you are stuck with it and you can never go back.

To be a GOOD parent, ..or..to be a parent. To be a good parent, I'd say about 20, because they will be out of high school, have a good job, and more mature than a 17 or 18 year old.
Also, their youthful activities won't be so many, and they can concentrate on raising a child.
At 20, they won't be under a lot of child filled stress, like a 17 year old is. They will be more knowledgeable about the world and things.

Being a parent and being a sperm donor or father or mother are severally different by definition.

A parent is someone who can take care and responsibity for a child, providing the basic needs (food, shelter, education, and clothing). Love also is a big part of parenting.

Age has not got alot to do with it, except that maturity is a big part of being a good parent.

The answer isn't how old you should be, it's how mature you should be. I know 22 year old people who are ready to start their family, and I know 40 year old people who aren't together enough to take care of themselves, much less an infant. Until you are mature enough to know children are a life-long commitment, you aren't ready. If it happens anyway, the truth is, you're in for some life-altering events that can be not only some of the hardest lessons to learn, but also the most rewarding times of your life. Good luck!

For morality and ethics, my opinion would be at least 18. This is the time when teenagers graduate high school and start living off themselves (in theory of course- we all know there are many out there to this day still don't care for themselves or have even moved out of their parents house). This is just a bottom baseline to say that those who are still in high school aren't fully equiped mentally, emotionally and educationally in comparison to someone who is in their mid 20's and who is stable. I think 18 and 19 is still young becuase in those few years after we move out we are adjusting and changing to the real world. 20 and on seems to be the acceptable to me.

Married and actively seeking spiritual maturity...it's a job not handled well by those who see themselves above making mistakes or those who cannot respect the emotional needs of their children. It's a job then entales two forms of love for the child(ren) and the adult:

Parent/child:

1. Actively spending quality time

2. Discipline - and the respect of

Parent:

1. Spiritual health

2. Leadership skills

Well.. as soon as a woman hits puberty and has sex with a male who has also hit puberty, she can get pregnant.

So sadly.. as early as 12 and 13 in some cases, but that's very rare and hopefully children that young aren't having children.

But technically, a girl could get pregnant that young.

I think 25 is a good age.

I began parenting my sisters' kids at age nine, so it seems as if I've always had a baby or two on the hip or trailing after me . . .

usually a girl gets her period at around 12 years old. if she's sexually active, she then can become pregnant and become a parent.
