You shouldn't even try to cast any fracture yourself. You could cast in the wrong position, cast too tightly or too loosely and cause an even bigger problem than he started with. If money is the issue, you were probably already charged a fracture charge and that may include his cast care and casting. If not, you can always work out payment arrangements with the billing department. Take him to his doctor and let them take care of him so that this doesn't become an even bigger problem.

You can't do it yourself. It needs to be done by an orthopedist. There is a lot more to casting than meets the eye. A cast must be sized correctly to prevent the cutting off of circulation. Also, a cast must be "balanced" so the support is in the proper area.

Don't try to do it yourself.

It's common to wait until swelling goes down to cast a broken bone. Take him back to the doctor and let them do it.

your husband needs to continue wearing the boot, keep his foot elevated, treat the pain/swelling with advil and ice, and keep his appointment with the orthopedist. the specialist may take another xray and either continue keeping the foot in the boot or cast it at the appointment. don't forget to take the original xrays to the appointment.

I could tell you, but you would have to have access to special casting materials and it is really something that a professional should do. It's not a home care project.

you can't. it needs to be set in a certain way and then casted by a professional. depending where the injury is depends on how they will angle the foot.
