I'm about to book my flight to sydney, but i am in the middle of a VISA dilema, i've been told conflicting information about whether i need a VISA for a month visit (for leisure) I've been told to write to the australian embassy in the UK, go to the Post Office and just to book the flight and the airline will give me the nessessary forms.

I'm quite confused and i'm getting no help from travel agents either because i'm not booking anything with them.

HELP

Any help, no matter how small is greatly apreciated.

Visa's or Electronic Travel Vouchers are necessary for all NON Australian passport holders wishing to travel to Australia regardless of the duration of the visit.

Go to - http://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETAAus1En.html
for information regarding ETA electronic applications (internet).

Travellers holding the following passports may now apply for an ETA through the above mentioned site:

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States Of America & Vatican City.

I hope you find this helpful & enjoy your holiday in Australia :-)))

Since you are from UK, all you need to do is to apply for Electronic Visitor visa online and will only take 3-5 days to get this visa. If you can't do this then we can help you for the same. But the process is really easy, move online on the site, fill the form and submit the same. Then will get confirmation that it has been received and will come back to you and then just wait for the visa to come and enjoy your trip.

YES you need a Visa, we are going in a few weeks. We booked the flight with Going Places, and they are arranging the Visa for us. You just take in your passports, they fill out the forms, take £20 per person, send off the forms, and should be ringing us this week to confirm it's all sorted. Easy-peasy - when we get there, there is an electronic record that we have been approved.

You definitely need a holiday visa. I went for a three week holiday there and I needed a holiday visa. They will probably issue you one with a 3 month validity. If the travel agency won't organize it for you, you must apply at the Australian embassy. If you need it in a hurry tell them it is urgent. There is a charge for it.

It depends on your nationality. If you are British citizen, you just need to get something called an electronic travel authority if you are going to Oz for a holiday.
You can apply for this online. It costs AU$20 and you can book it after you have booked your flight.
