There isn't a simple answer for this question because not all cancers are the same or can be treated the same. In early stages cancer can be removed or cured in most cases, but when it comes to late stages, there are still more questions then answers.

Probably not. You need to differentiate between the terms "cure" and "treatment." I think there will be more effective treatments for various kinds of cancer. But, there will not be a generic "cure" for cancer.
We will still need to focus on early detection, family history, prevention measures (smoking, environment, diet, etc.) and on vaccines such as the newly licensed vaccine against HPV.
Cancer continues to be prevalent because of our aging population.

cancer in all form still does not have a cure, research studies are still ongoing and will continue to do so under a cure can be found, but there are a lots of chemotherapy ( drug ) treatment now that can put a cancer in remission for a long time ( ex. breast cancer, lymphoma, .. ), that means a litle bit more quality and quantiy in life for cancer patient.

There have been a couple of scientists that have come very close to a cure & they mysteriously disappear, never to be heard from again. If this continues, probably not. But then again, if the rich & powerful such as Buffet & Gates come together to combat certain diseases, maybe. It's all very sketchy at best.
