I had to call my son, because he received his 1st communion in Costa Rica, after his mother left. He wore a suit, bow tie. I was not there, so this question brought back no memories, but a good talk with him today 3-18-07.
He is happy being Roman Catholic, which is comforting to me.

When my son had his first communion I dressed him in an all white tux and still have it to this day.

Traditionally, boys wear a white suit
