Yes a lot of us do realize this. The rest will learn the hard way.
Anyone who has paid attention at all to the news knows that we are not fighting Iraqi's and haven't been for a long time. We are fighting insurgents from all over the world who do not want Iraq to be a democracy.

As an Iraqi conflict vet i'm able to regrettably inform you which you have been grossly misinformed. Air strikes are very effectual, precise and in basic terms utilized especially circumstances. Raids positioned us at a plenty larger hazard to be a casualty and regrettably it quite is how we carry out maximum of our missions. i might propose you stumble on a sparkling source of counsel. in case you utilize the media it quite is a widespread mistake. occasion, the Iraqi people, for the main area love us and what we are doing there. I quite have some photos of the locals giving us hugs and intense 5's. The media leads you to have self assurance in any different case, in maximum situations. additionally the civilian deaths brought about by the US are so very minimum. conflict is hell and loss of life is the effect while you're harmless or a combatant. you mustn't even learn WW2 to Operation Iraqi Freedom, it is no longer EVEN A conflict! 2 distinctive battles, strategies, much less countries and persons in touch, international domination no longer in play and distinctive technologies. For you being a self proclaimed, historian, i'm surprised at how unintelligent you come back for the duration of. For the calling me a coward area, why do no longer you grab an M-sixteen, circulate over there and prepare us all the way it is achieved! once you're making it back in one million piece i will call you a coward after which you would be able to tell me the way you sense. God Bless

People watch the TV news and do not think.

They do not have a clue as to who we are fighting in Iraq and seem to think that if we walked away from Iraq then the people we are fighting will leave us alone over here.

Then when the next 9/11 occurs over here they will be blaming us for not protecting them - because we did what they wanted instead of what needed to be done.

Since there were no terrorists in Iraq prior to the invasion but plenty in the Horn of Africa and Pakistan, was waging war on Iraq about THE MOST STUPID thing we could have done?

Your comment about the British is interesting, since we all know fighting the IRA in Ireland did not keep the IRA from terrorizing the UK mainland, nor did fighting terrorist groups in the Palestine keep those groups from attacking British interests (embassies and others) in the UK and elsewhere.

But then, what did I expect from someone who can't spell "Saddam"?

Yah, fighting the enemy on their homeland would be the best situation... but our enemy is spread throughout the whole Middle East and parts of Southern Asia... that's a BIG battlefield. And we're no where close to being able to do that, so all we're doing is upping their recruitment numbers.

I certainly agree but can't when progress cannot be met over a certain period of time it only shows me that the wrong people are running the war. That was a proven factor during the Vietnam war.

yes, absolutely! i assume you are talking about conventional forces though, right? you cant be talking about so called terrorists, right? because they dont really have a homeland. hell, many of them live right here in the us among us. going to war with some middle eastern country you pull out of a hat has no effect on so called terrorist who happen to be living outside of the middle eastern country. i'm glad you were talking about a conventional enemy though.

Its not preventing American deaths when America has NOTHING to do with the war over there. Bush is just sending our loved ones (including my brother) over to Iraq to die in helicopter crashes & whatnot.

No I am NOT convinced. Why stop at enemies? Why not murder everybody everywhere (especially those starving Africans)? The standard of "enemy" and "terrorism" in America is UNACCEPTABLE.

If they're so concerned about our homeland, why not militarize borders? Why not increase death penalty?
