They are protecting you! It is their way of showing loyalty and love. I have a cat that jumps in the tub with me! He is not loyal, just crazy!

Same here. My dachshund gets so upset when I take a shower that I set a little blanket down on the floor in there and take her in with me. She just sleeps the whole time. She also often follows me into the bathroom, or waits right outside while I'm in there.
I personally don’t care, and in fact, I love having her with me everywhere, but I’m concerned for her. I know it’s not good for her to be so preoccupied with where I am all the time. I’ve even tried giving her special toys and bones and having her sit right with my mom when I take a shower, but she only wants me.

I too have a lab and I must say, I have the same problem.
I think the reason they follow us everyware is because they don't want to miss anything! They are beeing nozy! It could be too that they are very bonded to you, but you may want to set it up that they hav something to do while you are in the shower or want time to yourself.
Good luck

If you find the answer for this and it works...please email me and let me know....I have the same problem...hell, my 4 dogs can be sound asleep, but if I move they are up and following me whereever I go. Something funny....I went out to check the mail one day and they go upset that I didn't let them go with me, they went out back and in the matter of 20 seconds they had dug a hole under the fence and were at the mailbox with me.....I'm not sure if I got dogs or magnets...lol

At least you can shut the door! One of my Goldens know how to open the doors. I find both of them right behind me everywhere I go to. I always have company in every room in the house. I haven't had any priviacy in years! :)

Dogs are pack animals and they will follow the dominant pack member, you! This is a good sign that you have a strong rapport with your dogs and you set firm ground. It may be annoying at times but you can alleviate some frustraion by teaching them the command "back" this way they will back up away from you when you feel overwhelmed.

Because they love you--I probably couldn't pee if I didn't have 5 Dobies looking at me!!! It's not worth listening to the racket an scratching if I close the door!!

It's got to be a lab thing. Mine is right here nodding me with his big snout demanding attention, and he's got it I'm going to give him trats and play dog games right now! Just be glad someone is waiting!

This is because they feel safe and love you. If you want this to stop let someone else look after them for about 3-4 days
Worked for me

,Probably because they love you, take it as a complement. If you want more alone time try spending about an hour, or two with them then maybe they'll be satisfied. Try to occupy them the rest of the time they can play with each other.
