Just double check first. Open a pic by double clicking. Presumably it will open with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
On the bottom bar, next to the Help button is a little icon like a picture with a pen. Click there and see if the picture reopens for editing. If it does, just go to File, Save As.
If not, do you have your installation disks? Normally they are supplied with the computer and should have Paint.
BTW - I don't think Paint.NET is the same thing as Paint.

you will need the disk
or you can system restore
start /allprograms/accesseories/system tools/system restore
now you need the date that this happened so you can go back to when it worked.
if you have installed anything after the date that you want to use you must remove those programs first.
coz they will appear in your program list but wont work after restore.
get to know system restore its a very handy tool for getting rid
of viruses and a range of problems.
hope this helps

I always hit Start, Run, and then type PBRUSH and hit OK. It works like a champ. It's how I made my signature Spite graphic. If you still can't do it after that, let me know and I can always email you my PBRUSH.EXE file or something if'n you want.
