i think it is saying shake his hand or pet him

I too have a labrador, and I've been told one, it may be giving it its paw because it wants to shake paws, or two, it ants something like if youhave ea trea or toy, it is basically saying give it to me! Give me the toy or treat. It could also be telling you it wants to play!

it's pawing which is a bad habit they just paw you sometimes to get something or sometimes to say hello or play my lab did it, but i trained her to only do it when i say shake, sometimes she still does it and her paw scratches me and i have to tell her no labs are big softees i gus it's just their way of communicating with you but it can develop into a bad habit like jumping..she also gives it to me when her paw is hurt

My golden retriever does this all the time and it's just her way of letting me know that she wants some attention. Petting, scratch behind her ears, etc. When she gets attention she is satisfied. She has other ways of telling me when she wants a toy or go outside, etc.

Could be used to shaking paws, Could be trying to get you to let him out, might be trying to say he needs food or water.. Maybe just something he has learned gets him a scratch behind the ear.

It wants you to shake or it might hurt or something. You should just check out his/her paw and make sure nothings wrong.

If he anything like my Goldens it could mean, HI! or I want some attention, or My water dish is empty, or I need to go out, or I want a treat, or pet me or play with me.
Pick one it's a guessing game and they love to play it!

It colud be anything. Most of the time when my dog gives me her paw she is hungy, or wants something else from you. Maybe he/she has to go to the bathroom.
