TRUE LOVE does exist. However we only feel it for our children. No matter what they do, we will always love them, which is more than I can say for romantic relationships.
Everything else is just Passion.

Short version: I met my husband online in 1999. We got together in 2001 after I divorced my first husband and have been doing long distance ever since. We've been through the death of my mother, my car accident, hurricane katrina, and more. All from a distance.

And yet, we're still married and I love him more than I ever have in my life.

THAT is true love. When you stick by each other no matter what.

HOWEVER... there are limits to both of our tolerance. For example, I will NEVER allow him to abuse me (and vice versa) and the moment either of us cheats on the other is the moment the relationship is over. Never ever tolerate abuse from anyone.
