moms with daughters over 11?

how far would u go into there personnel lives? from asking who they like to when there old enough there sex lives. please explain how far and why?

Keep the lines of communication open, share information when age appropriate, stay out of judgement and let her come to you to share what she wants.

First of all, you better be talking about it to your daughter before 11.. this starts as old as they r to understand sex in stages 3 & up All children are different . It is important not to give too much information before they r mature enough to handle it . A nine yr. old can understand quite a bit but then again not everything in detail should be discussed. Listen to thier questions :this will help you get heads up as to where they r at in the decision of depth of your discussion.. Of course details should not be discussed until they are able to tell right from wrong.. They will not know whats so called "WRONG" untill you tell them. Girls need to be brought up as ladies, by an adult (lady)!! 1st CLUE.... you are her role model, but don't think for 1 minute that her FRIENDS won't influence her...they will. # 2 watch her friends closely. Try to help her choose good friends of her maturity level.. also being brought up by a lady. # 3 Talk ...TALK... talk....everyday about her life . Don't loose that trust you have w/ her. Be careful to draw a line ... Your sex life is not hers!!! Not untill shes way older ... maybe after her 1st real sexual heartbreak! She will have them... She will be 1 in a million if she stays a virgin untill shes married ...#4 Be realistic... even though we try to get our girls to WAIT for marriage ...chances are they won't. When they decide they r in love & they make love for the 1st time hope that you have a good enough relationship that you will be told by her. #5 get her into a doctor if you know she is sexually active.#6 a child needs to know there is someone they can trust to talk about anything . If its not you you can talk to an aunt or grandmother or sister to help you help her . Remember though, if she is having sex she is growing up & you need to treat her w/ kit gloves as she is no longer a child. #7 there are consequences to her actions .Make sure she understands what they may be.!! If a mother & daughter stay close they should always know it is a open subject . Good luck because thats the hardest part!!

I know my daughter doesn't tell me everything, but she keeps me informed on important issues (sparing me the details, TG!) If I know something is bothering her and she doesn't want to talk, then I will email her or text her. She can usually be more open that way, its less threatening to her. I started that when she was 13 and was kidnapped by aliens who replaced my sweet girl with a terrifying monster. I wrote her an email and said I know sometimes its hard to talk to moms, because you might be embarrassed or think we will get too mad, but I would like you to be able to come to me for anything. Well, the aliens brought her back and now we have a great relationship and she is 16 now.

I'm not a mom but I am a teen. I think mothers should know things about their daughters..such as the people they hang out with, where they are going and when, ect. But I dont think mothers should necessarily ask who they like..that may be something they dont want to share. About the sex life, I do think it's important for parents to talk with their kids about sex.

I am also a teenager, and I think it's important that parents should know as much as they can about their kids so their kids get comfortable around them and start telling them things about their love life or whatever without the parents even asking...
But don't probe too much, if she says "No one" but has that face that's like "Yeah, like I'm going to tell you" leave it at that, and don't force her to tell you who she likes.
Make sure you know who she's with when she goes out...
As for the sex thing, just make sure she's not allowed until after she's married... That's what my mom always tells me.

my mom is like my friend and i know SOME moms don't like the relationship that i have with my mom. but i keeps some things from her. and she respects that. i don't ask her about things that i wouldn't particularly like her to ask about me. just be your daughters' friend. (of couse still be a mom though ;])
