My brothers, my sister and I are getting matching tattoos of our family motto, and my sis and I can't decide where we want ours to go. It's a pretty small design, and we'd like the option of covering it at times. And I'm not a skinny girl, so that rules out a few places. Ideas anyone?

Do not worry about it looking trashy. If a person hates tattoos, theyre going to tell you it looks trashy no matter where you put it. (disreguard those people, they suck). On your upper back would be cute, or on your ankle, or foot? (im not skinny either, i have one on my ankle, and on my foot). The foot one is easy to cover (obviously) and even though I hate feet....I think foot tattoos are cute.

Well looking at all your answers, there's some pretty young people answering. Can't even spell ho right....anyways...lower back or along the spine somewhere is actually a very good place. Can be hidden, not affected by growth (pregnancy or just if you get any larger should that happen) Re: the whole "tramp stamp" issue...it's the PERSON that makes the tramp, not the tattoo. That's awsome, my sister wants me to do that with her.
If it's short enough, I would say around your ankle or right across the top of your back. I saw one girl with lettering down her spine, it looked really neat, it was in chinese though, i don't know how a motto would look.
Talk to a tattoo artist about it, go into the shop, tell them what your doing and show them the motto. They can usually give you some good segestions.

why would it look all trashy anyways? are u thinking about putting it on your forehead or something? i'd say anywhere on the back (upper OR LOWER) because its not a TRAMP STAMP unless the person wearing the tattoo is a slut.....or you can put it on your ankle, foot, or where ever!! you should decide what is best for you. good luck!

I think that on the shoulder works (like your upper back), also on the ankle or inner wrist, but in a little while once it gets warmer I'm getting my mothers name on my foot, it's gonna hurt a little more then my other one but easier to hide, and looks good with flip-flops, but never do the lower back, that is now known as the hoe mark

Cool idea! Maybe on your foot or ankle. Or the inside of your wrist..... or your shoulder. A tattoo isn't trashy, a person can make it trashy. Don't worry about it!

I have 4 tattoos and my favorite is on my ankle. I'm also not a small person and I have one on my back and 2 on my hips. You can do them wherever you want, but remember,a tat should be for you not for other people. So get one where you can at least see it, not on your lower back etc.

Try the lower back.That should usually be covered but you can also wear a short shirt when you do want to show it.
