Hi, I'm moving to NYC sometime late this year after I graduate college. I don't drive and do not have any funiture. I just need to move myself, my cat, and a few boxes of momentos (journals, photo albums, yearbooks, some books) and about I have about 7 really nice porcelian dolls from childhood that are still in the boxes. I really want to take all this with me. What it comes down to is about 1 or 2 big trunks worth of things, nothing huge, but I think more than I can take on an airplane (or can I?).

What do you guys recommend? Like I said, I cannot drive or I would just rent a car and take this stuff that way as it's only about as much as a trunk would hold. I don't have any family or friends who would do this for me. I thought about taking a bus or train to NYC, but I don't think they allow pets (do they?). Perhaps I could take all my stuff that way.

Thanks for any advice!

Hire a driver with a car that will take you, your pet and your things to NY. Check the yellow pages. Post at school. Make sure you do reference checks on any one you consider hiring. Or you can ship the books and stuff and do carry on for your dolls and pet if you take the bus or train. I think you can fly with a pet. You really have many options here

Good Luck

nicely, on your addendum you defined 2 issues about Phoenix which will be both universal or an progression. Phoenix, like Jacksonville, is a sprawling city that calls for using. unlucky, and they are engaged on it - gentle rail is on its way - yet there that's. so that you will be used to that. in spite of the undeniable fact that, that's a smaller land mass than Jacksonville, so the site visitors is slightly more beneficial useful. And, in case you may't stand humidity, you'll like Phoenix, because as you observed, there is little humidity. they're diverse cities, no doubt. Jacksonville is opulent and Phoenix is a barren area. yet i imagine you would discover in words of ways of existence, activities surroundings, activities, the "style" of city, that it received't look completely unfamiliar. you would regulate right away. also, there is an extra beneficial earnings of Phoenix that's advisable to consider, and that is the ecosystem. Florida is largely a swamp in each route from Jacksonville. stress 2 hours from the sunny barren area of Phoenix in the iciness, and also you'll finally end up in the pine forests of Flagstaff, surrounded by ability of snow.
