tickle me eino... a helsinki tradition with little finns everywhere.
toivo the frog... swampland invader from lapland.
miss piggila... won miss finland contest in 1993. sells nokia phones across scandinavia today.
sisu the bald eagle... national symbol of finnish pride since he was freed from soviet fishing nets off arctic coast in 1995. lately, he's experienced noticeable de-feathering: perhaps another KGB radiation poisoning victim?
doctor bunssens e. hannadu (and his able-bodied lab assistant, bykkir). helped to launch finland's national 'a sauna in every home' program in the 1980s, suffered third degree burns and broken glasses trying to find a substitute for burning birch wood in early models of the sauna. statler and waldorf's balcony curtains are now made of non-flammable materials. coincidentally, doctor hannadu was also responsible for introducing the finnish dessert treat 'wood-fired animal', along with the finnish chef.

I think the names used here are the same as in Venezuela (and throughout South America) :-)
Kermit is La Rana René (and as "la rana" is a feminine word, it can get a little confusing LOL)
Miss Piggy is Peggy, Animal is Animal...
I should look for the original names and their translations because after all these years, the names I knew as a child have become mixed with their original names that I learned as an adult :-)
Now I'm curious about the Brazilian versions...
***********
EDIT: I'm glad we call them "Muppets" and not "Teleñecos"... it doesn't sound nice.
And btw, Spanish, Argentina :-)
