I have 2 week old baby kittens (and of course their nursing mama) and right now I have a terrible cold. I was wondering if the little babies can get sick from being around me?

Nope. Completely different strain. Most human and animal diseases are like this.

Not usually. However, to be on the safe side, you should wash your hands if you need to handle them, and try to keep your distance untill your cold has gone away, just in case. But normally, cats do not catch human viruses, though they have their own cold viruses that they can catch from other animals.

It relies upon. some ailments could be transmitted to and fro from animals and persons, some can not. An occasion of this could be the flu viruses. no longer all flu viruses are transmissable between species. Influenza B viruses are frequently going on in basic terms to contaminate people and seals, yet Influenza A viruses, even in spite of the shown fact that, like the H1N1 (swine) and H5N1 (avian) flu, can infect distinctive species.

Not sure about cats, but humans with colds or flu can give it to horses. hummmm it seems that some viruses can be transfered from humans to cats.Human rotavirus HCR3 possesses a genomic RNA constellation indistinguishable from that of feline and canine rotaviruses. While most feline infectious diseases affect only cats, and most human infectious diseases affect only humans, it is important to be aware that some of these diseases—called zoonotic diseases—can be transmitted between people and cats.

I am preety sure they cant because we are a different species. The only way they would be able to if the cold changed forms, but that is very unlikely.

No, cats cannot catch the bugs we get. Cats don't get colds at all.

Cats can get flu but only cat flu not human flu....so don't worry.
