I have a dog who is CONSTANTLY anxious...not just when I leave, not just around new people, not just around new dogs...ALWAYS. She has improved some with training, but I'm at my wits end. She is starting to become violent with my other dog, and I don't want to put her down.

I have a dog who is CONSTANTLY anxious...not just when I leave, not just around new people, not just around new dogs...ALWAYS. She has improved some with training, but I'm at my wits end. I have tried some behavior modification and training. I want to shy away from drugs if at all possible. She is starting to become violent with my other dog, and I don't want to put her down.

My brother-in-law has a dog that becomes very anxious prior to and during thunder storms, and he gives her a little bit of Benadryl, and she calms down and sometimes even sleeps through them. However, if your dog is constantly anxious, and becoming mean to your other dog, you need to see your vet to make sure she doesn't have some physical problem that is causing this.
